Desert of Neglection

A family visit to the pool
a harsh dive in the water
motionless and unable to breathe
saved by a lifeguard

In sweat you wake up
To subside the nightmare
with the Muse's command
but the order is clear;
"Die"

Disappointment overcomes you
Pain touches your heart
Sadness cripples you
Millions of "why"'s and "how"'s

How is it possible for somebody
to say so many things and prove
in time the opposite
with the actions chosen to perform?

As you faint you shed a tear
for disappointment is at your side
you gave it all and was there till the end
you gave your best at it and in the end
was left alone to heal yourself.

Time to wear my mask again
and forget my dreams and nightmares
they seem to suffocate me.
They kick me in a desert of neglection
and indifference, nowhere else to be now.
