The king wearing his crown
continued parading in his old kingdom
Azrael was now banished
and the offspring of the demon were slain.
He walked into the palace halls
escorted by his companions
the poet, the warrior, the observer and a child
he then stopped, he was there
and what he saw
made him
for the first time
since his return
feel unsure and frightened
He was in the throne room.
There were three thrones now
there where once was only one
One was black,
one was red
and the center one
was golden..
He could clearly rememember
the golden one and the black one
both were raised and painted thus
after his release from the dungeons of his father
but what was the red throne?
The child came forward to speak
"Oh king, you have gone
for a very long time
your mind now is weak
and remembers not
what happened the last days
before you left
but let me remind you if you wish.
You remember only two thrones
but the truth is that before you left
you burned both thrones in fire
and left a red one in stead
as a decleration, that you are death.
Now death has renounced you
from his son, and you are to live
without his shadow."
The king kneeled on the floor
moving his head left and right
whispering
"I left because death
threatened the ones that followed me
I left because death
stole every diamond and pearl I found
I left... and now I am back
to see this?"
On the three thrones
he saw the dead bodies
of the once powerful
king, his queen and their son.
Fire was burning in his chest
anger and wrath
he screamed to himself
and run out the door
to his garden
"The flowers of life
they must be still alive!"
But the garden was burned
and no trace of beauty was left behind
"Who burned... who did this?"
"You did... before you left..."
His silver hair turned to white
and his eyes became smaller
their dark black colour
faded into gray
He was tired
tired of it all
tired of fighting
for no reason
for a change
that's not to come
for a kingdom
that doesn't want to survive
"This is not fair,
all my hopes
all my energy
all my time
all my efforts
were thrown upon this garden
and all are now burned..."
The observer came forth
to remind him with his wisdom
"Do not worry sire,
you have secured
ones safety
all those who..."
"Shut up!" he roared
"Shut up... just shut .. up
who's security did I assure?
I send them back to hell
and that's supposed to secure them?
Is that how I was to protect them?
I invited them all in this kingdom
to protect and shelter them
and now they are safe in excile?
It's wrong..it's all wrong"
And with those troubled thoughts
he whispered
"So much to reform, in so little time
so little time of peace left
just days till the great war breaks up
what..will..I..do?"
